    I reckon there are three types of tool.
    1) Things like Bridge City that are so beautiful and expensive that you can only put them on display in case you get them dirty.
    2) Elcheapos that you can only put on display and say "look at my comprehensive collection" but can't use because the will bend and break or burn out.
    3 Tools that are TOOLS.

    They wont hold varnish and the concept of a shellac sealcoat is totally beyond modern brushmakers
