    Hello All

I am in Canada at present and it is the same here as in Oz. That is confined to barracks too.

But there is always a positive in every situation. I am glass half full guy.
While stuck here we visiting a daughter and new grand daughter, it is not all bad!!!!

So to fill in some of the days not being allowed out and about I have been shopping online. So onto Ebay,Gumtree, Kijijii, leboncoin and more. Many things found but not possible to fit in the bags and too big for carry on.
However I did find one of these at an affordable price. Never have I seen one of these at home (Qld). Maybe some of the other members know of them.
Anyway after a few days wait it arrived, it needs a good clean up and sharpen. The next thing is a new handle. No problem there plenty of trees / timber here.
What else have people found recently? There must be some interesting ones??

I think you have a slick there.

They are extra large chisels sometimes up to three inches wide and including the handle up to eighteen inches long. They were extensively used in conjunction with timber frame building and log cabin construction.

    Default New Handle

    Hello All

Well it needs a new handle. Our son in law had had a WRC tree trimmed a while ago and what better to use.
I trimmed it down with an axe and the handle less slick. Then into the workshop and more whittling with spokeshave, rasp and sandpaper. Some linseed oil and "voila" a new tool to bring home.

    Regards

That's a slick, for log home building. Made right, you can push on the handle with your shoulder.
The bigger the log home, the more use there is for a slick to shape fitted joints.

I don't know why, but I don't think this will pass as cabin luggage!!!

You won't be doing "carry-on" with that stick. Take it apart and into checked bags.
