Grossly Inappropriate Use Of Hand Tools
You see some weird stuff done with tools.
Anyone has the power to use a shifting spanner as a hammer, or a 100 year old chisel to open a paint tin. But there are elite misusers out there.
I recently saw one online with an upside down bench plane cut into the form of a high heeled shoe. And from memory painted pink. (shudder).
The winter has seen the little village I live in moderately infested with *ahem* large mouses. One of whom decided that inside the roof of my workshop would make a mighty fine last resting place. Nothing smells quite like a decomposing large mouse. (I count myself lucky though. A number of my cashed up friends have built McMansions along the beach road. With plastic water pipes as is the contemporary building practice. It seems that big mouses are particularly partial to a snack of plastic water pipe, which creates a highly satisfactory disaster.)
But I digress.
My wife "strongly suggested" that I start burning incense, or lock myself in until such time as the crisis passed. I couldn't bring myself to go into the new age emporium and ask for one of those tastelessly carved ski ramp thingys you put the blunt end of the smelly burny stuff in - but every problem has a solution.

Unlike the laser cut Disston “wall art” and Stanley 5’s welded together to form lamp stands; your incense burner looks to be 100% returnable to it’s original configuration.
Therefore at this time you are forgivenNothing succeeds like a budgie without a beak.

I guess given the age-old use of incense in funerary rites, it was entirely appropriate, and even if it wasn't enough to drown out the odours of decomposition, I hope it assisted said mouse to go peacefully to a happier place.
And perhaps you experienced some deeply spiritual feelings whilst tending to the farewell of your little friend?.....

Indeed. It is free of major nasties, largely flat, and nice enough beech stained to look (a bit) like Rosewood timber.
The temporary career change will allow me time to reflect if I can really be bothered refinishing it - or to decide that 50% finish is close enough for government work.
An odd coincidence that I hadn't been thinking planes for quite a while, and then I started thinking about planes, and then this Oz 4&1/2 and an Oz 5 fell my way when I wasn't looking for them.
