Great looking chisels Sinjin. I am sure you'll have much pleasure using them. H&S chisels are the "Rolls Royce" as far as chisels are concerned.

I do wish Trent will spend some time updating his website. I know he's extremely busy fulfilling his orders and attending shows at the same time.

But once you decide to have a presence on the web, it would be a disservice to visitors and potential customers to leave it obsolete. I have the 2009 Australian Toolmaker catalogue, so I can see his new products. But the same cannot be said for many others, I am sure. I apologise for veering from this thread's subject.

The chisels are very impressive and huge. Well he made what i asked for and I'm more than happy with them. I actually met Trent outside a MacDonlads store on my way back down from QLD. I also met Des K from the Japanese woodworking area. Anyone who has seen pics of Des's Shoji screen pics will know he is very talented, and very informed about tools, woodwork and Japanese culture and when i looked at his work it was just spot on!

I asked Trent via email a few days ago what his wait time was at the moment, he responded saying that it would be about six week, and he doing a double run to catch up with orders.

Wow.. they are pretty and look they'll chop and chomp and take a fair belting.

Are they tanged chisels with a whopping great ferrul?

I was allowed to touch one of Sinjin's chisels when we met up in the Gold Coast, and they are certainly hefty and beautifully made tools. Almost too good to use (emphasis on almost).

It was good to meet you and talk things woodworking, but I realised after that I failed miserably in my hosting duties, and we never had that cup of coffee . A thousand sumimasens, and next time I won't be so remiss.

With all due respect to Trent, I was told 6-8 weeks in June. Total almost 11 months now. I think that figure is extremely optimistic.

He's not too good with deadlines is he Last time I talked to him (a few weeks back) he said he was starting to get on top on things

Yes, I agree that 6-8 weeks sounds a bit optimistic, Trent is a bit funny with time frames, but for that kind of work, who cares really. Mine were so worth the wait. Just beautiful. They're a handful, but brilliantly balanced and crafted. Enjoy using those ones Singin.
