Yes - it is an "Elmo" - I had a suspicion it might be reasonable ... the Stanley was in that box too ...
SG, When you said the blue one looked like the Titan handles I said "pish posh" ... the Titan is wider.
Ahem. Idiot.
I'm guessing it is some kind of copy??
Also ... how did an Ozzie company in the 60s or whatever settle on PINK handles???

The blue one is probably a Stanley. Same as the Titan but I've only seen them in plain edge, whereas the Titans are bevel edged generally.
There were some blue handled Titans on ebay a while ago I'll see if I can find a pic. I think I had a pic of a plain edge plastic handle Titan too. By the way they were red when new but fade to pink when exposed to sunlight.
Steve.

I support stuffie's stuff
Light blue handled thing is a stanley (have one with stanley and size written on the shaft) probably unloading ex Titan blanks after Stanley take over of Titan in 1968 ?? The shafts are all plain sided and look chunky and roughish. Red handled chisel (faded to pink) is either "Titan guaranteed" or "Titan Australia" vintage blade stamp. And yes, these did appear in dark (royal) blue as well but a bit rarer and didn't fade. Chisel shaft and tang is exactly the same as in the wooden handle version (Swedish pattern with end hoop) with a "Titan Australia" oval sticker/decal. Came in sizes 1/4 to 1 1/2 and all bevels. Often sold in hardware chains in four or six packs (plastic envelope) with gold Titan on the flap. Focus on the handyman market.

Thanks Berlin. Glad to help. But don't ask me anything except Titan questions. Now that's crazy!

No parties
very true unfortunately (weep). However, I forgot to mention the Titan red handled job has been influenced heavily by the "Millers Falls" Buck Rodgers type design around at that time (mid late fifties). God - where does it stop??

Stanley Australia Chisel Black Handle
Back on topic. I found this thread after spending some time fixing up an old Stanley black handle yesterday. Does anyone know what the -80 means? I found mine at a garage sale I think, the steel quality looks really nice, almost like Damascus steel with a hand forged look this is why I bought it (perhaps its just patina or pitting marks). I gave up trying to flatten the back up to the cutting edge, its almost there, will try again when I have more time. Seems to be very hard steel.
Would love to know more about these as well and will be looking for more to make up a set if possible.
This one seems to be 18mm, would love a wider one.
