Urko Clamps
With a couple of fairly large glue-ups on the horizon, the time has come for me to look at getting a few more clamps in the 400-600mm range. I've come across these Urko ones:
Vices, clamps & presses | Trade Me
On paper, they look pretty good and not all that expensive in comparison to some others on the market. Has anyone used these?
Another alternative might be Jorgensen ones from Lee Valley (e.g. Jorgensen® Standard Fast-Acting Clamps - Lee Valley Tools), but I suspect the postage might be fairly pricey (has anyone bought a small number of clamps like this? if so, how much did it cost to oz?)

'Been using them for years - heavy duty , strong , unbreakable stuff , made to last a lifetime. A buy you won't regret

I have never used those clamps, but in my experience the more parts that an item has the more parts that can break. When it comes to clamps I have had several where the head has loosened and fallen off. I’m sure if these are quality clamps that will never happen. But If I where you I would buy clamps that look like these (pic). I use these when building houses so they get a lot of abuse. Another thing that’s grate about these is that they don’t make the things you’re trying to clamp turn when you tighten the handle. A lot of cheaper clamps lock the round piece that dos the clamping, and then the material turns when you add pressure.
Ofc those clamps might be very good, but id still gets some that’s forged in one piece.

Thanks chaps.
I've never had a clamp head come off on me yet, and I can't see it happening given the type of use they'll be getting! I'll grab a couple of the Urkos and see how they go.

Quick update on this thread. I bought a couple of the 600mm Urkos, and am very impressed with how they've performed - they are very sold and heavy, lock brilliantly and it's extremely easy to exert some serious pressure with them.
I'm going to get a couple of the other sizes too - they beat the pants off anything else available locally for the price. Unfortunately, the shop that I'm getting them off is up for sale and may end up closing down, which is a bit of a bummer. I wanted to gradually acquire a decent set of clamps over a long period of time as finances allowed, but there is a risk of the supply drying up, which would suck.
(If any of you lot fancy a move across the ditch and a tool business with zero local competition, check out Woodworking Tool Store | Trade Me. No affilition etc, just think it would be a shame to see it close down).

That's the whole point , Andreas - look at the head :
The head doesn't turn , there's no rotary movement at all.And I moved from a workshop in Spain , fitted only with Urkos , to another in France , where all is the forged stuff (Besseys) from your pic above sory mate , the Urkos beat them hands down. I feel like buying some to use them in the workshop , and shoot anyone who tries to touch themIt's a slow and painful process...the secret is, dont mind the pain.(Ian Norbury)

Has anyone else bought the Urko clamps?
I saw these Urko clamps recently on a local website, werent too sure about them until I saw this post..
I bought a couple of the 800mm variant. will provide a user review after I have used it.
the limit on these clamps is 1200kg, the Bessey heavy duty is 700kg... not all that important if you only need it for light duty, but I use my clamps to glue up beams/columns of timber, this is important for me.SCM L'Invincibile si X, SCM L'Invincibile S7, SCM TI 145EP, SCM Sandya Win 630, Masterwood OMB1V, Meber 600, Delta RJ42, Nederman S750, Chicago Pneumatics CPRS10500, Ceccato CDX12
