Veritas Low Angle Jack Plane - PM V11 Steel
I was Just about to buy one (A2 Steel) from CT due to their current 10% discount when I thought I would check Lee Valleys website to compare.
Lee Valley now offer the LAJ with PM V11 Steel (Only $15USD more then A2 or O1). Has anyone bought and tried this setup.
Is it Worth it......I think So !!!
Be good to me exchange rate

PM-V11 steel hones relatively easily (no more difficult than A2) on the most basic equipment (even oilstones according to the recent review by Chris Schwarz in the Oct Pop Wood mag), and holds an edge on the more abrasive hardwoods significantly longer than O1 and A2, its main rivals.
I spent time time testing it nearly 12 months ago for Lee Valley. Using woods such as Tasmanian Oak and Jarrah (which is abrasive and hard), my conclusions noted, "The PM-V11 blade easily outperformed the A2 blade, producing nearly double the working time".... and .... "The VII appears to sharpen easily on common media, such as Shaptons ..."
