Hi Rob,
After having a demo of the LV dovetail saw at Derek's place, (and a few others I might add), I just had to have an LV one, or so.
Had to put a few other things in the cart as well, what with Christmas coming up. All arrived in 6 days. Blooming fastasitc service mate. Thanks to you and your team.
And I just love how the saw feels in my hand, perfect. Happiness is: Another LV tool fo r me right now.
Cheers
Pops

Hi Rob
it's now October 17, which means it's October 16 in Ottawa
where is it (project #797) on the web site?
but more tantelisingly, what are projects #800 and #840?
Going on your timings, is one of them this?
BTW
this is as good a spot as any other to again congratulate you on your company's beyond excellent customer service.
I recieved an email overnight advising of a possible problem with the 25 note Xylophone kit I recieved last week. No ifs, no buts, just a straight forward message saying -- please check your kit and if it's missing one of the notes let us know which one and we'll send it to you.
(My kit is complete)regards from Alberta, Canada

Pops - had a chance to play with the Veritas saws on the weekend (in the same Aladdin's cave where you met them ). It was a pretty quick comparison, and there were some other big brand names used, as well as a couple of saws of my own manufacture. I still don't like the Star-wars look of the things, but in every other respect, I have to admit, I was very favourably impressed - they ARE comfy to hold (unlike those 'orrible 'andles on the BU planes & scraper - sorry Rob, but just can't learn to love those.... ). Anyone in the market for a very good small tenon/dovetail small-joinery saw could do a LOT worse than a pair of these. As with so many LV tools, a lot of bang for the buck. I think you will be pretty happy with your purchase.........
And no affiliations with the company (other than the occasional purchase), etc......
Cheers,IW

Hi IanW,
Yes that Aladdin's Cave is a fun place.
Lots of shiney tools to spy and most generously, get to test drive and compare the various brands and makes, with all the full review information on tap. Onya Derek.
There are a number of things to consider with a dovetail saw, kerf, starting ease, speed etc. For me the LV Dovetail came out on top bar one, a saw that probably cost many times more I might add. The handle fitted my hand like an old Diston I have, (don't have big hands). Yes, it does look a bit Stat Wars and I did have initial reservations, before I held it that is. I am a convert. Still can't get the light sabre to come on though.
Cheers

Well, is this one of the long awaited new projects?
For all those veneering woodworkers it looks very desirable.

The mail guy is getting nervous, it is the first time he has seen me rush out to get the mail. Took off in a cloud of two stroke.
Nothing like a mystery tool to pique the interest

Thanks Rob.
That veneer saw doesn't look too shabby, so the surprises should be quite interesting.
Cheers from Tele Point

Hi Ian -
Good supposition, but no... that tool doesn't have surgical roots. Dad keeps his hand in working on the odd project. "Chestnut Tools" are all done by the folks at Canica....
Next Thursday - it depend on the luck of the draw.... this is an email special, and the list will go in two batches - Thursday and Friday. It won't be navigable on the website - it'll be what we call a "blind page". The special will run only until the 9th...
We're actually starting to get a bit nervous about it....we're pretty sure we have enough finished.... (we have lots of castings and raw materials) but one never knows...
Cheers -
