Veritas Shooting Board Tracks
I see LV has now produced some tracks for their shooting plane. I wonder if there is any great benefit to having a pre fabricated track? Any thoughts?

I should have mine in a few days
I had a look at the online blurb, then had a look at some of the DIY shooting tracks in Shopnotes magazine and concluded the LV one was going to cost the same or less than making my own from HDPE and a lot less hassle getting the bits delivered.

I can see how the idea had developed. Those of us that have trouble making a good shooting board or if you think you have trouble keeping the plane flat against the work piece when in use.

Is there a coating on the tracks or is it metal on metal?

I bought the 24" version as I want to be able to plane the ends of glued up panels, so far I haven't even unboxed it.
They come with a couple of lengths of UHMW sticky tape to go into channels in the extrusion, like the Festo saw tracks, so no metal on metal where it counts.
