A new video from Liogier - shaping a Louis XV leg
This is the second vid from Noel Liogier, showing a timber working craftsman using a range of rasps to shape a table leg. It's about 5 minutes I think.
You'll notice that this guy isn't scared to keep his rasp in full contact on the reverse stroke. I suspect that doing it that way gives him a nice rhythm on the heavy going. He has a whole range of strokes that he uses, and the curved rasp stroke is very informative.

Good evening FenceFurniture,
I would like to thank you for bring up Liogier rasps in the first place. You were very enthusiastic about it in another thread I did get two: a big one rectangular one 9/12; and a smaller one, also rectangular. I never had or used any rasps before these two, so I cannot compare, but I am very happy with them.
Thank you FenceFurniture.
And also thank Mr. Derek Cohen for the evaluations.
Best regards,
...behai.

That video must have been shot close to dinner time. The guy was in a hurry to finish the job and get inside before his wife came looking for him.

Close to lunch. We're in France.
Did you check out his site? He doesn't just know his way around a leg!...I'll just make the other bits smaller.
