    Default What is this

    Hi Folks

One of my work colleagues is clearing out a relatives shed. Has come accross a couple of tools which we have no idea about.

Are you able to assist please? Also do these tools hold any benefit or value.

The knerled grip slides back and the end piece opens on one of the items. Cannot imagine what it would be used for.

    Your thoughts please.

They are flooring clamps. The cam locks onto the joist and then you can pinch up the flooring in preparation for nailing.

Thanks for the quick response, are they still used these days or collectors items?

I think I agree with the 'sky hook' answer for the other ones ( I'd hate to have to carry around the keys haha), seriously though they look like they would attach to a cable or rod, thought might be used to grip and twist wire / cable etc.

    .
your welcome, oh it wasnt me, oh well...

for wooden floors on joists they are still used, but not as many timber floors are made on joists nowadays though so the market for them would be slim, there also an older type, newer types are usually with a screw and vice type handle setup, more compact and neater but both work

    cheers
