This is a VERY porous stone, so it needs a soak to saturate it before use. Once using it, you can keep it wet by spraying water on the surface as you go.
If you don't soak the stone, you'll be standing there a very long time spraying water on the surface and watching it disappear in seconds as the stone sucks it up.
Generally, the coarser the stone, the more improtant it is to keep it in a container of water ready for use.Last edited by Mr Brush; 28th November 2010 at 11:03 AM. Reason: typo
