I'm waiting on the WoodRiver #7 as well.....
I note that Workshop Heaven are advertising a shipping date around December for their Quansheng #7, so I suspect that the WoodRiver one won't be far behind...
Happy to wait until then and pick one up from Jim

There is soon to be a QS no.7 available here.
Workshop Heaven - Fine Tools
I will stick with my Stanley model that has a QS chipbreaker and Smoothcut blade.

WoodRiver #7
I had mentioned that Woodcraft are expanding the WoodRiver range but at that stage couldn't add any details - now I can say that a #7 "Bedrock" - style Bench Plane will soon be added to the range and gets a mention in the WR Ad on the inside back cover of current Fine Woodworking mag.
No ETA as yet, more details as they come to hand. Keep an eye on my website for more info: Jim Davey Planes & Sharpening - Home

Heard very good reports on them from someone who bought one at the Melbourne Show from Jim.

I'm hoping the WoodRiver version is out around the same time, so that Jim Davey can put one under the Xmas tree for me

A no. 6 down the pants would explain the way John Wayne walked. The bubinga goes with my pin-stripe, and I've squared off the armrests in the car during my commute
They're an excellent plane, right up there with the Clifton (which is saying something), I gave them a good going over some curly walnut and failed to get tearout (from either direction).
Thanks Jim,
cheers,
B-D.
