10 or 12 inch blade for GPW 10/12 saw
Hi. I'm fixing to go out tomorrow to buy a table saw. Its like this one GPW 10/12'' Table Saw but from another vendor. Anyway, I'm assuming it will come with a mediocre blade, so might upgrade to a better one while I"m there. Should I buy a 10 or 12 inch blade ? is there any advantage of one size over the other ? I'm not at all concerned about depth of cut (65mm is OK for me) but do want the best quality cut the saw can deliver.
cheers

It's only a 2 HP saw, so I'd stick with a 10" combination blade (good for both ripping & cross-cutting). I have a 12 inch rip blade, but only use it on the rare occasions that greater depth is needed.

I have a 12" Flai U combination blade and it is fine. I also have an 8" dado stack which is also fine. Saw has never bogged down on either.
Cheers,
Nick

Result
Final result -> I bought a 12 inch 26 tooth rip blade and an 8inch 80 tooth trim blade. Both CMT from Carbatech (unimaginative but convenient).
Both work well - especially the rip blade. I've been cutting 52mm jarrah and it just eats it - produces little ribbons not sawdust. Doesnt bog down or even slow down at all.
The only negatives I can see to the 12 inch blade is cost, and the fact that you get less tablespace in front of the blade, which might be important if crosscutting using a sled.
cheers
