    Default 10" Carbatec MJ2325DS

Carbatec Sydney have this table saw for $1295 at the moment. I know the TSC10HB gets raved about, anybody got one of these or had a look at it?

    G'day howdya,

If fact, i've not only seen it and played with it, but I also bought one at the Melbourne store on tuesday last week. Extremely easy to set up once put together. I'd recommend getting someone to help putting it together as it needs to be upside down at the start and then flipped over.

I bought it along with another three and a half thousand dollars in machinery and tools, bits and pieces to set up a small cabinet making shop.

Putting it together took about an hour and a half for two people and then I spent about another three hours finishing it off. Out of the box so to speak the accuracy wasnt too bad but half an hour of fiddling later and it cuts as square as any saw I've used in the past.

Must admit, I was very surprised and pleased at the amount of adjustment available. Just one small bit of advice,- in the instructions it often makes mention of needing CAPHEAD bolts to attatch one bit to another, the are in fact black bolts that have an Allen key head, had to ring Carbatec to make sure.

On the instruction manual, very well layed out and very detailed apart from the description of the above bolts.

I've now been using it for a week cutting both Vic ash and 19mm ply and cant fault it.

    Hope this helps you.

    Ross.

By the way, couldnt recommend the service at Carbatec highly enough.

I had a budjet to work too, woops, the visa got more of a pounding

Went to two of the opposition, the lady at the first was very informative but the budjet just didnt stretch that far. The second, hhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmmm, not even gonna go there. Took two weeks to ring to let me know that the rubber floor mat that I urgently needed for a customer had arrived in store, I'd picked it up two weeks before after not receiving a phone call and ringing myself to see if said mats had arrived.

As I said at the start, cant recommend Carbatec highly enough.

    Thanks Ross,

I bet the carbatec blokes eyes lit up when you flashed 5 grand at them.

There seems to be a lot of negative comments about sliding tables, Is the slide mechanism fairly solid?

    Howdya,

I worked it out the other day about sliding table saws when talking to the guys at carbatec. I've used 17 different configurations of sliding table saws from little altendorfs to what rightly should be called panel saws.

Before buying this one I said to the carbatec salesman that there was no way I'd spend that sort of money without seeing it in the flesh, had to wait 4 weeks for them to get one down to melbourne and assemble it.

I looked at all the other sliding table saws of similar price and they felt like toys compared to the MJ 2325 DS. After I waited over half a day for the saw to be assembled, It got a real going over. The sliding table runs on 3 sets of bearings that run along 2 stainless steel rods or runners. It has a beautifully made casting the holds the table, bearings assembly together and is strong enough to hold my weight and slide on it, thats about 150kgs.

Overall, I dont honestly think you could go wrong with this saw. I'm using it mostly for solid timber cabinet making and so far have been very happy with it and all the machines I bought that day.

If your looking for a sliding table saw that is accurate, has a right tilt blade and doesnt cost an arm and leg, then I really feel this is good value.

    Cheers,

    Ross.

Good question and Im waiting to find out

    On the matter of the
I'd recommend getting someone to help putting it together as it needs to be upside down at the start and then flipped over.
Personally I wouldnt have touched it with a barge pole if thats what was required to set the thing up!! A table saw that NEEDS to be upside down then flipped???? got a overhead gantry? Off the trailer on the deck out of the box a few tweeks and tightenings insert the blade install the winders and fence attach the control box and whalla away you go

Putting it together took about an hour and a half for two people and then I spent about another three hours finishing it off. Out of the box so to speak the accuracy wasnt too bad but half an hour of fiddling later and it cuts as square as any saw I've used in the past.
Thats part of the reason the TSC10HB gets rave reviews ol son!!... straight outta the box ONE MAN setup an hour from woe to go (even of me! ) and your off and running beautiful straight cuts every time no worries...

The only issue I found was the poxy sliding table setup... but its not a Felder and its not a panel saw so the slider is never gonna be something brilliant... but with that aside the table saw is the DUCKS KNUTS!!... strewth if theres a mob of woodworkers raving lyrical about one saw you would think that would be the one to aim at?... ah well some just have to be different!
Believe me there IS life beyond marriage!!! Relax breathe and smile learn to laugh again from the heart so it reaches the eyes!!

Maybe we should have a Jet forum, bit like the Festool forum, then Wongo can preach to the converted
