1970's JET CTAS-010-1 Tilting Arbor Saw
I've got a line on this 1970's JET that a friend is giving away. He says it works fine and I have no reason not to trust him, but I'm new to this size of a machine. Does anyone have any experience with this model that could point out what I need to check on this machine or any other of this type and size for that matter before I bring it home to the shop? Any advise or tips will be greatly appreciated.

GIVING away? If it is free then you can absorb anything other than:
- table not flat
- trunnions cracked
- motor not working
Check the blade can be cranked to square with the table (not a showstopper if it can't)
Minor arbour float can be fixed with replacing a bearing or so, cheap for a free saw.
Even if the fence is missing it is a good acquisition.
You will need MHE to be able to move it around the shop and sufficient room around it to manipulate a full sized sheet.
Free huh, I wish I had a friend like that .
