2.5 car shed! Luxury!!
I had this saw (with a sliding table) in a 1.25 car garage. Don't be a wimp, get the sliding table
The CMT dado set you can get with a 30mm bore, so you don't have to get the 'attachment'.
I'd like the K3 also but @ $10K for the single phase version it's a bit steep.

And anyway, you can leave half a car out and have some more room!

Another mbs300 owner.
yep good bang for bucks choice.
heaps of balls.... the motor is massive....... do get a 20 amp outlet wired for it.
the 5/8 arbour in my opinion is a downgrade.
do you realy want to play with dado sets..... they scare the willies out of me.
the 30mm arbour is solid and accurate.
it can either be splitter or riving knife.... i run the riveing knife.
if you want to run the riving knife you have to get the overhead guard.
Do price the same machine from carbatec and others.
look carefully at the way the machine is packaged, paticulary what fence and overhead guard are offered.
a mate has the gregory item and the overhead guard on his is a pain, the guard housing has too little visability.
the carabatec unit has a besermyer clone fence and a better overhead guard.
the freud blades in my opinion are very much overpriced.... regardless of what they will try and BS you...CMT is just fine.
as for the sliding table......it is a good thing but takes up masses of space and can be a bit fiddly.
the work surface on this machine is huge, so there is less reason for a slider.
Do what I did and make a sled.
MBS300.... hell yeh.
there are several other offering the same machine..... shop it arround.
cheersAny thing with sharp teeth eats meat.
Most powertools have sharp teeth.
People are made of meat.
Abrasives can be just as dangerous as a blade.....and 10 times more painfull.

well I just got my Forrest Woodworker2 40 tooth combo thin kerf blade and dampener plate. Mate! what a clean, quiet, fast cut! I have been using both CMT and Freud blades on my friend's Delta unisaw but the Forrest is a lot cleaner and quieter. I'm using it on my old Craftman 10" open leg style tablesaw. It has a 3/4 hp motor and was probably built in the 70's. It cost me $45 US at auction. It has no problem driving this blade!

Enough dicking around mate, just go and buy the thing. I'd prefer you also got the sliding table, so when I come to borrow it I'm not inconvenienced.
Might I also put in a request for you to purchase a decent bandsaw?Bodgy

I can see that guard system finding a nice place to hide up in the rafters....

Rojek table saws
Has anyone looked at the Rojek table saws? Ron Mack's have them, I believe they are European made, possibly a bit expensive for this thread (7 to 8K?) but I'd say a lot cheaper than an Atlendorf.

He's funny.
Zed,
Don’t worry about 3 or 4 hp mate. 1.5hp to 2 hp is what you need. Get a few of Freud blades, get a rip blade (24 teeth), a cross cut blade (60 teeth) and maybe a combo if you want.
Left tilt or Right tilt?? I will pick left tilt but don’t go out of your way. Right tilt is fine too.
Get the one with a riving knife, the one that goes up and down with the blade. You can build an overhead guard and hang it on the ceiling.
Sliding table. I don’t need one. I prefer the homemade cross cut sled. Also you can keep Bodgy away if you don't have one.
Come to my shop and I will show you my setup.
BTW, are you dealing with gregory or major ww? major is the one in Sydney.Visit my website at www.myFineWoodWork.com
