5/8" versus 16mm Arbor
Hi all. I'm wondering if anyone can help me with this one. I have purchased a new table saw and the manual for the saw and the sticker on the saw both state that the saw has a 16mm arbor and 254mm blade.
So I go to put a new blade on the saw and the old blade is actually labeled as having a 5/8" hole. So I measure the arbor and I get it roughly at about 15.85mm.
So are 5/8" and 16mm arbors the same?? Should I use a 5/8" blade?? Should I use a 16mm blade??? Or doesn't it matter???
Regards
Mark

5/8" is 15.875mm. So i am guessing that the 16mm description is a round up to metric. Same as the 254mm blade instead of 10"
I dont think it will matter what size is written on the blade. If the hole in the blade is 16mm then you have a 0.06mm gap around the arbour.
Close enough for me.Those were the droids I was looking for.

I too have a problem I have a table saw Ryobi industrial model BT250ET with a 5/8 arbor. I have lost the flanges that hold the saw in place, the parts are no longer available, all parts have to be ordered through Bunnings Stores. they have a table saw ETS1526AL . I know the parts ( FLANGES) are available for this saw, so if the arbor is 5/8 or metric equivalent then they should fit. all I need is a photo of the arbor/shaft to confirm the will be OK. can anyone help, as I am getting nowhere with BUNNINGS
