Default saw blade advice for ts-10L needed

    hi all

i need a new combination blade and a blade for pre-finished and laminate mdf and chipboard panels
I've gotten myself so confused by reading too many reviews

any help and advice would be appreciated. I've been looking at forrest, linbide, flai, infinity, tenryu.

also has anyone found a riving knife that can be used on this saw for doing non-through cuts?

I made my own riving knife for that purpose, there is a thread on it somewhere.

Saw blades are a very personal choice, I bought some reasonably priced blades from (the now defunct) Nortwood Tools and have been happy with them.

Stuart Lees (Stu's Shed) did a very comprehensive test on saw blades, he is another TS10L owner.

I stand to be corrected but a riving knife stops the cut pieces from bending back and clamping in the blade with dangerous consequences. So if you aren't going all the way thru the work piece it can't do that so I why would you need one?

I have a flai type U in the classifieds (about page 4 or 5 now) that I would take a reasonable offer for.

    Cheers

The workpiece can still catch on the rising back edge of the blade, which lifts her up, and then propels the workpiece back at 'ya when the uncut surface of the workpiece hits the top of the blade. *kickback*

i thought i would have to make one, but i might use steel.

as for the blades I eventually took the plunge on Infinity blades
the 40T Super General and the 80T laminate blade

I'll give a little review when they arrive

Don't think you'll be disappointed with infinity. I use the 80 for crosscut and dedicated 24 tooth rip on my Ts-10L with glue line ready finish. With such easy blade change I prefer the dedicated use blades.
