Default Just Bought a TSC 10HB and need assistance

    Hi Guy's
Finaly made my mind up bought the broke the bank today bought a TSC10 HB, Large Mobile Base, a CMT 60 tooth fine cut blade, Dado set.

Took me 3 hrs to get it out of my works van( base of van is nearly 3/4 metre off the groundm used my scrap timber to slide it dow to the grounfd and then walked it in.

I am stuck at the moment as the chinglish instructions are pretty ropey compared to the last saw that i set up (triton wc2000).

I was hoping that there was someone that lives near pakenham that could offer assistance in making sure that I am doing everything ok (especially getting fence right)
Maybe slab of vb involved if thats ok.

Unfortunately I get stressed very easily when I can make head nor tail of instructions.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    David

    G'day Djfoggin,

I'd be happy to help out.

First thing is throw out the manual, go to Grizzly.com and download the plans from there. Much clearer and easier to understand, the same machine but just a different colour. My net is real slow right now so i can't provide the direct link.

PM me if you need a hand in the flesh. I work from home, so my hours are pretty flexible.
I make things, I just take a long time.

I believe that this is the manual from Grizzly that you'll be needing.
    Cheers

    Djfoggin,

I'll know more about Thursday after a phone call to a new client tomorrow morning. After reading the PDF that Dj posted the link to, and if you still need a hand send me a PM.

The fence is a real curse and gave me the when trying to fit it, so I know where you're coming from. The rest of it was easy. Easy the grunting and cursing as I tried to hold the wings up with my shoulder as I tried to do them up.
I make things, I just take a long time.

I found using a MagSquare made that job (fitting the wings) easy
Article I wrote back in May about it.

Before you get too involved in setting up the fence I suggest that you replace the aluminum faces of the fence with some MDF faces. The aluminium ones that come with the saw are never perfectly straight. You can use the aluminum ones as a template to where you need to drill the holes. The flat faces will allow extreme accuracy with the saw, especially in things like splitting boxes.

    Good luck.

    thanks to all,
    for your advice and assistance.
DJ & Dazzler for the advice about the grizzly manual (million times better than the chinglish one)
Waldo for his assistance in the final setup and words of wisdom.

others not mentioned here for pointers to articles and advice on fences etc.

The saw is a beatiful piece of equipment, smooth cuts, still need to do a couple of tweaks and make some jigs.

    Thank's again

    David

Strewth, I had words of wisdom? Must make up for the times I have brain phartz or visits from the Stuff-up Fairies.

    Happy to help out David.
