Like I said, I haven't really done much research on them yet so you may well be right Rob. The dado is a CMT 230.524.08 that does have a 30mm arbor.

I can't add much more than has already been covered here, but I will say that you aren't alone Larks, I had exactly the same problem when I first got my Harvey, having never had a T-style fence before and not full understanding the mechanism. The manual is "brief" to say nicely, but the Grizzly manual is great for all sorts of adjustments and tweaking.
I had a problem with mine last week - rise and fall was extremely stiff to point of being not usable and blade was stuck full lowered. I referenced the exploded parts diagrams in the back of the Grizzly manual to disassemble the saw including removing the top and partially disassembling the rise/fall control shaft to find the fault and fix it. Then used the same manual to reassemble and re-align the table top, etc. In short, the Grizzly G0690 manual is the the best reference for the Harvey HW110LGE and Laguna Platinum.

BTW, I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on the CMT dado set when you get a chance to use it. I was originally planning on the $100-ish Freud set, but the 30mm arbour put an end to that, and have been saving up for the $260 CMT from Carbatec (is that where you got it?) Also, if anyone knows where I can readily get an FTG (flat ground) blade for doing keyed mitres, I'm struggling to find one, although I suspect one of the dado blades will do this when I eventually buy one.

I had an ATB 80 tooth that I was not using much so I had Timber Tools grind it FTG. Charged the same as a sharpen which it needed anyway. Works like a charm for mire keys, dadoes, rebates finger joints etc.

The Grizzly manual has certainly answered a lot of unanswered questions for me and I've sorted out my fence, thanks to Rob, so I've emailed the guys here at MWE and Harvey (in Nanjing) with a bit of feedback for what it might be worth - i.e. in regard to the shortfalls of the manual that they provide with the saw and the need to provide the full version that Grizzly provide.

I'll let you know how the dado set goes when I get a chance to play with it (I'm working over in WA so don't get as much time at home in the shed as I'd like), but all reports that I could find before buying it seemed pretty positive. I bought it through MWE along with the saw.
    cheers
