    Default New cabinet saw advice

    Hey all
    I’m looking to buy a new cabinet saw, not sure what to get. I used to have a jet contractor which was good, then I upgraded to an old scm sc3 panel saw but it’s accuracy is just not there.
    I was looking into the Sherwood cabinet saw, anyone have one of these? Otherwise there’s current model sc2 from scm, which is a panel saw still.

    I’m interested to hear from people who have the sliding attachment and what the fence is like on the Sherwood.

    Also keen to hear anyone else’s recommendations. I’m looking at spending 3-4k

    I have been using a MiniMax SC-2 for a few years and find it an excellent unit with very good accuracy. I prefer a panel saw rather than a cabinet saw especially for safety reasons and the SC-2 takes up minimal space. There a lots of very good industrial quality used units for sale at present especially if you have 3Phase power supply. A friend of mine just got an Altendorf that is very accurate although a few years old. My wood group uses a Harvey with a small attached slider but no one uses the slider due to poor configuration. There are lots of choices for cabinet saws with slider attachments but I would suggest you try before you buy to make sure it does what you want.
