Default New cabinet table saw advice?

    Hi,

Apologies that this question is so open-ended but I'm exhausted after looking at various makes/models of cabinet saws.

I'm in the market for a new cabinet saw right now. (My 20yo Craftsman contractor saw, that I bought back from the US, just died.)

    • I value precision. The fence needs to be easily adjustable (in tilt and for parallel to the mitre slots) and adjustability of the trunnions would be helpful. (I'd spent hours dialling in my previous saw's blade and fence as accurately as I could with a dial indicator, and for me it made a difference.)
    • I like a riving knife (not a splitter that supports overhead dust collection).
    • I'd like to swap riving knives to match blade kerf.
    • I only need about 30" to 36" of fence width.
    • 10" blade fine. 12" would be nice.
    • Out-feed extension would be nice but I can build me own.
    • Overhead dust collection would be nice but not essential.

I'm considering the Harvey Alpha HW110LC-36(P) and the Laguna F2, but both are on back order. Sawstop PCS and ICS fit the bill but I'm not prepared to pay extra for the safety components.

    I'd appreciate any advice.

    Cheers,
    Michael

I have a Delta Unisaw I want to move on. It’s US made.
It’s never been used, still had the US plug on it which my son a sparky replaced with a local one.
It was bought from Carbatec about ten plus years ago when they were bringing in Delta stuff.
Bloke who bought it never got to run it and his shed roof leaked and it was a bit sad, rusty and dirty when I got it.
    Its cleaned up ok.
Send me a pm if you are interested.

I have the Carbatec TS-C250P-30TG which I'm really happy with. You can't get any better for precision as everything is easily adjustable, I got mine for $2000 but its gone up to $2500 now. As I understand it, the Carbatec is a re-badged Harvey, or the other way round. My only gripe is the instruction manual, it doesn't explain everything and if you get one I suggest you look up some of my posts which highlights a few things I've discovered about the saw.

Maybe I should re-write the manual as I know the machine inside out now!.

I'll likely be getting a table saw next year. I've been considering the Fusion F2 and the Harvey Ambassador C200-30.

The manual for the current F2, with some details on the adjustments you can make, is here:
