Calling All Carbatec TS-C250P Owners!
G'day Folks!,
I Had to do abit of an adjustment to my saw the other day to re-align the miter slot to the blade. Had a quick squiz at the instructions and it seemed pretty straight forward, loosen the 4 table mounting bolts and tap with hammer in needed direction.... YEAH RIGHT!, the bloody thing didn't want to move so I tapped abit harder.... NOPE nothing. This went on for nearly 6 hours, even took the fence rail system and side table off to lighten the top thinking it must be too heavy, still didn't budge!.
Not one to give up I got my torch out and took a look under the table to see why its not moving. To my shock I noticed two very small set screws one in the left corner and another in the right holding the table top in place!.
Theres no mention of these in the manual, so I'm wondering if anyone knows why they are there and are they needed?.
Great Cabinet Saw but instruction manual is abit cack.

Just as an update to anyone who has this Cabinet Saw or prospective buyers. I took one of the set screws out and lightly tapped the edge with my rubber mallet until everything was completely zero using a Digital Alignment gauge. Despite my frustration with the manual, this saw is excellent. It took no more than 5 minutes to get the cast iron miter slots totally parallel to the blade!.

I should point out the set screws cannot be seen unless you completely remove the table mounting bolts, the bolts conceal the set screws!, sneaky huh?.
I've come to the conclusion they must be there for transport.

Did you get the saw new or secondhand? Just wondering if it had a previous owner, whether they might have aligned the blade and mitre slots and put the screws in to hopefully prevent it moving again in the future. Just seems odd they weren't mentioned in the manual if they were original.

Nah, it was brand new. I also noticed the manual failed to mention the motor transport bracket aswell. It wasn't too hard to miss as its bright yellow, but what really should have been mentioned is the fact that when you take the bracket off the motor, you have to replace one of the bolts, this is the tension bolt for the motor belt!.
Like I said the machine is awesome and has some serious grunt, its just the manual doesn't cover certain aspects of the saw.
One thing I do love about the saw is the fact you can get everything completely zeroed out & aligned, and I mean dead on aligned, I suffer with OCD and used digital guages to align every single bit of the saw, I even use a digital height guage for the blade!.
