Carbatec 250mm Cabinet Saw
so with this arriving hopefully tomorrow, I was doing a little reading and see that it can take dado sets. BONUS
however I also found it has the 5/8" bore.
Carbatec in their wisdom only appear to have a 30mm bore dado set @ $399 while Timbecom have a 5/8" bore set @ $299
anyone have advice on either set or what else may be available please.I would love to grow my own food, but I can not find bacon seeds

Sold by and ships from Amazon AU
8 INCH STACKED DADO SET : Amazon.com.au: Home Improvement
Im certain you cant use blade bushes on dado sets so you're restricted to 5/8" sets

Hi T. A little while ago I bought my Dado set from Carbatec. CMT with 5/8" bore. They used to always have both bore sizes. Have you spoken to anyone there? And yes somewhat odd to sell a saw and not have blades to match.

the freud/diablo dial-a-width one is a 5/8 bore and a quality unit, though you pay for the price.
Freud 8 In. Dial-A-Width Stacked Dado Set with 5/8 In. Arbor (SD608) : Amazon.com.au: Home Improvement
long dry video but explains it well
remember to factor in that you'll need a dado insert plate as well (or a blank to cut your own)

thanks I had a chat with Carbatec this AM, suggested expected arrival end of next month, I then mentioned maybe add another 2 months because of covid. there was silence on the other end of phone.
have the https://www.amazon.com.au/Freud-Dial-Width-Stacked-SD608/dp/B000089H8P?th=1 set that havabeer69 suggested on their way. yikes nothing like spending $$$
meanwhile today a local courier van arrives and drops off the new rails, "wheres the rest?" I simply ask. was told to phone the boss.
Now having lived in Lincoln for 18= years I had a very good inkling of what was going to happen.
"Tony". says the owner/manager of contract courier, "the tailgate truck dont come out that far." (we live 11K from the depot) "you'll have to pick it up yourself".
yep right on what I expected. "So you expect me to pick it up on a trailer, bring home and unload it myself?"
"Well what you gonna do, I dont want it laying around my shed"
at this stage I terminated ph call, so I didnt have the chance to tell him what I really thought and contacted Carbatec.
Ball is in their court, The contract says deliver to my home address...
They have sent an email to TNT,
I think tomorrow the *#@* will hit the fan and one of the other couriers in town will arrive..I would love to grow my own food, but I can not find bacon seeds

Well wahoo its finally home. No thanks to Carbatec & TNT.
I suddenly suspected the Carbatec were bluffing when promising the were contacting TNT and some other freight forwarding outfit.
I know enough about our local agent that he knows that TNT, IPEC and Toll know he is the one who calls the shots. I know he has threatened them of doing without their business and they know he is all B.S.
So today after Carbatec run around telling me I might have to wait until Wed next week while they get this sorted. I politely told them that a local furniture removealist will be picking it up in an hours time, and I would be advising Carbatec of the amount involved and I would be accepting a credit note.
Was told they dont operate that way.
They got snarly when I advised them that Dept of Fair Trade and Dept Consumer Affairs will be invited to the party next week.
I know I am now being pedantic and surly but they advertised free delivery to your home Aus wide and I intend to push that hard.
We have now almost finished assemblyI would love to grow my own food, but I can not find bacon seeds

I used Diggers wax and grease remover but Im sure any solvent based cleaner and 1/2 a roll of paper towel will work.

How many forum members are prepared to say they own one of these?
If there was sufficient (?) numbers would it be beneficial to have its own page, for asking all type of saw related and dust removal questions
I know Ive asked several questions over different pages.
for dust removal Ive added a 100 elbow over the existing outlet this way not cutting into the cabinet for a bell mouth. This elbow fits another so taking the dust removal around the rear of cabinet, where it meets a 100mm Y that has a reducer jammed into it for the hose from overhead cover.
Fortunately they provided a spare riving knife, so as soon as Ive build a overhanging blade cover with 100mm outlet, the factory supplied thing will go into storage and I will be sucking dust correctly.
Photos will come, as I mentioned somewhere the workshop has/is going through change number X? and so much I want to make.
I will ask this again, is it worthwhile removing the dust cover under the blade, this should hopefully stop small slithers of timber potentially jamming the dust pipe and slope the cabinet floor towards the outlet, keeping in mind I am not prepared to start cutting the cabinet in case of any warranty claim.I would love to grow my own food, but I can not find bacon seeds

One of the best upgrades I have made was replacing the blade guard with a Sawstop blade guard. I made very minor modifications to the blade guard splitter to make it work. The saw is now easier to use with a guard and the overhead extraction is improved.
I always felt uncomfortable with the stock guard. It felt clumsy and unsafe. The Sawstop guard is night and day compared to stock.

I'm a bit concerned, I have a Carbatec Table saw on its way. I to live 12 km from the furthest a courier will deliver, I have been wondering how I'm going to get a 200Kg machine home. Actually I can get it home on my Ute, but unloading might be fun.

got a mate/neighbour with a tractor and forks.
WARNING the operator needs to have some brains.
The way Id suggest....
1 forks under pallet, take weight off the ute
2 move the ute firstly
3 Then lower the centre of gravity as low as possible
4 the move into rough position.
They actually slide on concrete better than I suspected.I would love to grow my own food, but I can not find bacon seeds

where there's a will there's a way
200kg really isn't "that much" in terms of weight, but depending on your ute an engine crane might be able to get it off the back for you, but you can also buy some fairly low weight chain blocks and come a longs from bunnings etc if you have something you can sling off.
otherwise just unwrap it in the ute and take it out in pieces (pretty sure they come in pieces any way)
