Default Carbatec Table Saw: Missing Plug?

I was just wondering if any Carbatec table saw owners who brought the TS-C250P had a 2inch plug included for the dust collection?. According to the Manual there should be one included but I never had one?.

This is the thing I'm on about:

i'd reach out to Carbatec and speak to them directly.

Sometimes their manufacturing process changes so people who have bought the same saw, might get a slightly different machine depending on the batch. For example my DC came with a remote, no where in the manual says it has a remote. When i enquired with Carbatec to source a replacement remote they confirmed the above.

Having said that i wouldn't bother with a 2" hose, I've got a 4" hose (1 of three pickups) connected to to my machine and still regularly need to open the cabinet to suck out the chips that get stuck there. A 2" will do significantly worse.

I don't use the 2inch hose on it, that's why I need the plug. I have the 4" hose going to a 2hp DC, the over head DC goes to the 2hp shop vac.

I didnt receive a plug. Probably easier to buy a plumbing fitting from Bunnings around the right size and then use a heat gun to heat the fitting and persuade it onto the 2" inlet.

Totally unrelated to your problem but I'm thinking of pulling the trigger on one of these. How do you like it? How was the setup? Any issues with the included insert as some other people have reported?

    Thanks

Its an amazing saw, everything can be adjusted and stays adjust. As an example I'm able to rip cut 70mm stock into less than 1mm veneers, take the fact I haven't re-calibrated my machine for over 5 months, thats pretty damn good. I made my own zero-clearance insert (see my threads), you get two with the machine, one for standard blade and another for dado blades, they're ok but its better to make your own.

My only issue with the machine has been the instructions but if you look up everything I and other have posted on the machine you wont have any problem at all with set up.

Appreciate the response. I’ve heard it from a few people now that it’s a good machine. You might have just sealed the deal for me!

I wish I was paid for promoting the thing!, in all honesty though I have one of the worse cases of OCD and perfectionism and the saw has never let me down since buying it back in 2019.

Good to hear. Too bad just about every TS carbatec sells is on sale now except that one! Free shipping though so horses for courses I guess.

Expect some posts about “how the hell do I calibrate a table saw” in the near future

A little bit off topic but I have the 12" (300mm) model of that saw bench. After 21 years the motor died rather permanently. The motor had the "hangers" welded to the motor fame which meant a replacement motor needed a special bracket to be manufactured. A standard replacement was not available. The bore on the pulley was 22mm and the shaft was 19mm. Because the difference was 1.5mm, too small for a sleeve, a new pulley was needed, a further $80.00. After the new motor was mounted, I needed an electrician to complete the installation. He discovered the switch had died also, which meant another trip into town, 11k each way. Now the motor ran backwards.
All up, the replacement cost approximately $1,000.00. Why bother with a new motor? The saw bench without a motor is a bit difficult to sell and fairly useless and a replacement machine would cost about $2,700.00. Plus I have quite a few jigs and attachments that I have specially made to suit my old machine, that may or may not fit a new saw bench.
The final result was a vast improvement with almost no vibration now. Magic.
