I've tried several products for this (TopSaver from Carbatec, Silverglide, etc.). Plenty are good at removing the rust, but don't seem to last long in preventing it coming back.

The one I keep coming back to is (drum roll please) U-Beaut Trad Wax. Lasts longest, and helps wood slipperly slide over the surface as well.

I also now cover my machines (using old sheets/doona covers) when not in use, as that seems to extend the periods between waxing.

I find Carbatec Silverglide very good for Sydney conditions. Good at removing rust and keeping it away. Keeps things gliding smoothly too - just a little dab now and then will do ya.

I just use plain old parrafin wax rubbed over the top and then rubbed over with a kitchen scourer.

I find this to be a good idea as well. I cover my TS and my BS with a heavy duty cloth drop sheet.
    Reality is no background music.

I have tried several things, but the one that works best for me is Lanotec.
Smells like a shearing shed , but I have no sign of rust after 3 months.

I use Silverglide, and have also used Ubeaut traditional wax. Ubeaut's EEE powder (forget the new name) is good for removing rust also.

Whatever you use, you have to remember to reapply every couple of months or so depending on conditions and usage. Which is why I like the Silverglide, because when I can't see the silver bits, it's time to reapply.

U-Beut Traditional Wax. Makes my t/saw and other beds of machinery smell nice too - pretty sure it's not a Code of Practice violation. (strangely SWMBO doesn't like the smell )
I make things, I just take a long time.

I also use Lanotec. After 4 years my tablesaw and jointer are still as new. No sign of any rust. When I finish work for the day I give it a quick clean up then a few squirts of Lanotec and cover it with an old blanket.
Next time I use the saw ,a quick wipe with an old rag and a few drops of kerosene and then finish off with a clean rag and I'm ready for work.

It might not be the perfect or easiest way to prevent rust but it seems to work.
