Combination Machines
I am considering a purchase of one of these high end saw and spindle moulder machines and the options appear to be Hammer B3, Holzprofi SF 3 and Minimax ST 3.
I'd be very grateful for any comments or advice from peope with knowledge of these machines.

Full combination machine possibility
If you are considering a saw (slider?)/moulder combination, it would seem to me you may have sufficient room for a 5-function combi unit (which also has jointer+thicknesser+mortiser).
And if that is the case, you might search this Forum for combination machines for sale - there was a guy in Melb wanting to sell his MiniMax CU410. Everyone (including me) thought his asking price represented good buying. Of course shipping it to Perth will be a challenge.
In answer to your specific question, I bought a new Tecnomax (MiniMax) CU300 (Code: combination unit with 300 jointer/thicknesser) a couple of years ago. Whilst I haven't used it a great deal, I am quite happy with it.
Good luck.

Combo's
Thanks for the note Gordon. I have a SCM planer thicknesser so I only need the two functions on this machine. Had a look at the Minimax unit today and it is very impressive.
Cheers

Mini Max User's Group
Jim
If you would like some input on a Mini Max machine one way is to join their forum (on Yahoo) and post a new thread asking for comments on the machine you are interested in. Although it is likely that there has already been commentary about the machine in question - so perhaps do a search first. See

That link is a post about a specific question, but will get you into the site.
Of course most of the members are Mini Max owners so you will probably find a bias in favour of the products.
