    Default Correct Table Saw blades

    Hi Guys, Ladies.
Have just purchased a new Fusion F1 Table Saw. It comes with a 10", 40T combination blade.
I have 2 brand new 235mm, 20T Makita BlueMak blades from my old circular saw that smoked up. They have 20 degree tooth angle though and am not sure if they are safe for ripping on a table saw. I do not want to use them for Cross cuts... JUST ripping. Is the 20 degree Hook angle safe on a table saw for ripping. I don't want to turn my table saw into a Cross Bow.
Also the new Makita blades have a 2.4mm kerf compared to 3.2mm for the original 10" blade supplied by Fusion. I am told this is easier on the Table saw as it only has a 1.5HP motor. Any help greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

The hook angle is not really an issue here, but a thinner kerf than standard means you must get a thinner riving knife to suit it (about 1.8-2mm for a 2.4mm blade), and I do mean MUST.

Having the blade at maximum height will also help reduce the likelihood of things being thrown back out.

Invest in a blade which is suitable for use with your riving knife, same thickness. Thin kerf circ saw blades are designed generally for use with hand held circular saws.
