I’ve been using this little Woodfast slider for about 18 months and I have been pretty happy with it generally, it’s done heaps of work, every day, and hasn’t given me any strife. The one gripe I have had is that there was no stop or retaining system to bring the crosscut fence back to square when it was removed to rip long sheets or boards. So , first I fabricated a ‘z’ shaped piece to go at the back with some adjustment screws, this was ok but not perfect as it was bearing against the black metal table extension part which is not solid. 😳CDA0BE3E-D415-456C-9AEE-A890C3E0DCE4.jpeg
I thought about this for a while while using it and came up with a much better and more accurate solution. First, I machined all new locking bolts with much finer tolerance in the holes and slots, and fitted the ratcheting handles to them.F6DF0ADF-5004-4272-AC12-B10764CF9A59.jpg
I also made new aluminium tee nuts, and stop nuts with grub screws to locate them in the t slots on the sliding table.17E65A85-8664-41B9-87AB-5E7AC6FBFD44.jpegA9496AB5-85BE-440F-9079-77EECDE0B4C9.jpeg
On the outer one I put a locking adjustment screw.
Now, when the fence is replaced on the table, the tee nuts that hold it just slide up to the stops, and tighten the handles, and it’s perfectly square every single time.8893AF43-2C50-4F5B-8AD2-E7CC60202CB3.jpg5F97EAAF-6D4E-4098-8BCF-2D5870DC3A4F.jpeg
