G'day Jill,
Possibly a little late but if you are still looking for ideas - check out my last post in this thread which shows the perspex cover for the blade - for me it works extremely well.
Since then I have lowered the riving knife which allows me to also do simple trenching or rebates without having to remove the knife which originally was well above the blade.

Hi Bob, I really liked your U shaped perspex guard on the rear of the fence, it is the best one around.
