Dado set with 30mm bore
I recently bought a Torquata Metric Dado set from Timbecon. However I found that the tolerances on the bore were a bit too tight on my 30mm arbor. So ti was difficult to get on and off. The end result was that I returned it to Timbecon and they were kind enough to give me a full refund.
So I am in the market for new Dado set. However it seems that dado sets with 5/8" bores are much more common than those with 30mm bores. Possibly due to the ban on dado sets in Europe where saws with 30mm arbors are much more common. It seems that both CMT and Freud dado sets with a 30mm bore are hard to come by. In the case of CMT I believe this may be a temporary supply issue due to the pandemic. So I'm wondering if anyone can provide any recommendations and where they can be sourced? Many thanks.

I have a cabinet saw with both the 30mm arbor and a 5/8. I find here in Aus that 5/8 seems to have more selection for blades though. I have the Freud Dado set and I must admit it is snug and I always worry about it damaging the thread, but 5 years of using it there has been no apparent damage.
CMT make a set and there is one apparently made in Israel or using tungstan made in Israel. It seems a bit odd as I have never heard any other tools made in Israel, only a famous carpenter! It was on a full page spread of Australian Wood Review I think.

I forgot to mention, there is a workaround if you only do occassional dados. There is a jig that is inexpensive that measures the width of the timber in which the timber is inserted into the dado, and this with a tripple chip blade should bet the job done. Not my way of doing dados but it can be done.

Dimar too.
To the OP…Felder offers a 30mm dado cutter, but I don’t know anything about it as my machine isn’t able to use a dado set. It's all part of the service here at The House of Pain™
