    Default Fence squaring

I have a dial indicator to test my fence for squareness. It wiggles a lot and seems to vary about 5/1000 of an inch as it moves. Is that a satisfactory result?

I'm no expert but 5 thou sounds like not much at all. Where're you measuring that - is that over the length of the fence? 5/1000 inch off square over table width of say 24" sounds good to me.

    It wiggles a lot
this is not consistent with 5 thou movement. I doubt you would feel 5 thou movement. Be interested in your answer to Mikep.

Note, your timber will probably change with humidity well in excess of 5 thou, so you might be chasing something that is not a big deal
