cant wind blade down on cabinet saw, advice or fix pretty please
Gday.
Bought this from tradetools in dandenong (before they closed) about 5 years back.
The blade winds up effortlessly, but to wind it down requires levering the 100kg machine off the ground with each turn, and forget about the last 40mm
Ive taken the top off, taken photos, SENT the pics to tradetools in QLD but even after phone conversation they just dont reply.
I can see nothing broken, its a very simple mechanism. I have tried losening and tightening most all the bolts. no change.
I dont know machines.
If anyone could shed some light, suggestions, own a bigger hammer than I do, I would be forever in your debt.

The photo's are not very clear but the first thing I would try is blow all the dust off and add some "lubrication"

I have a very similar table saw, and every now and then I have to use compressed air particularly around the rear vertical slide and the bottom of the adjusting screw towards the front where there is a thrust bearing. Once all dust has been blown out, I use a dry lube such as PTFE spray which usually makes the mechanism as good as new. I have had to do this process every few months, but only access the innards from the top after removing the blade and from the side access door.

There is probably a build up of material in the mechanism some whear you may need to disasemble and give it a good clean

I've this exact saw. It's well behaved, but the mechanism does need periodic cleaning.
With the DE on, I blast compressed air around the cabinet until its empty, then paying extra attention to all the gaps, threads etc. This is just done with a air trigger attachment with a 30cm nose. It's gets right in.
Next is a lube of the threaded raiser rod, the upper and lower thrust bearing and the trapezeiod guide system. This can bind hard and I don't like the design (but it's stable and functional). When the saw was first acquired the little grub screws which keep it goldilocks-tight needed adjustment, but not since.
If any crud clags the thrust surfaces of that trapezoid it will lock right up hard.
I use bike chain dry Teflon lube.
