    Default Saw fence upgrade

Hi all. I have a Zinken combo 21 my first table saw( about 30yrs old). After replacing bearing and repairing the clutch for the different functions it is going fine. The weak point is the fence( a common theme reading the posts!) I have looked at after market items, the incra, amazing! but out of my price range. The biesemyer style from carbatec NZ$460 still expensive. As an engineering fabricator I thought it doesnt look to difficult to make. On searching the forum I found Morry's "Table saw fence clone", A big thanks to all who contributed. Everything there ,even a set of drawings. I was thinking of using an aluminium rectangular section for the fence, possibly 100 x 50. Should I line this? What is the best material, there are a few mentioned. Currently on the saw the fence does not extend to the rear of the table. Is it an advantage to do this?
Cheers, look forward to your replies Paul NZ

i had been using a standard incra fence on my contractor saw for a year and the cost was soon forgetten by how good the fence is. i bought my from incra in the US when the AUD was around $1.05 to the USD though so it didnt cost as much as it does now.

i recently upgraded my saw to a jet xacta and the table is too long so i have had to order the extra long fence and base plate. so for the time being im useing the jet xacta fence.

the xacta is ilke a beisemer style. irs very solid however i cant wait to get the incra back on the saw. the accuracy of the incra is unbeatable. if you want to cut 180mm you set it at 180mm and it will cut exactly that size.

you can buy my xacta fence and rails once the incra xl fence arrives. ive only used the xacta once (today) and likely a couple more times before i remove it,. but i just saw your in NZ so it probably wont be viable
