Fitting dado extension to a Carba tec TS-12RX
I have recently bought a Carba Tec TS-12RX cabinet saw and Dado extension. It would seem that you remove the arba by removing the long pin which is attached by a nut at the rear of the assembly and tapping out with a piece of wood. I have tried this but it seems too tight and will not move. Dado set and saw are both new to me any suggestions please as I don't wish to whack it and break it! How hard can I hit this!
After a nights sleep woke up this morning and sussed it straight away! No need to reply unless you wish to point and laugh! Only had the machine a week but it appears to be great would recommend it.Last edited by adrianclarke; 7th October 2012 at 11:46 AM. Reason: Sussed it!

Nice buy .... seems to be a nice saw Adrian.
Do you mind saying where you purchased it and how much?
Cheers

Apologies for the delay in replying had to find paper work as I bought several machines at once and couldn't remember individual prices. It is a TS12RX1PH saw table 300mm x series sliding table $3643 and I bought it from Carba tec in Balcatta. So far very happy but haven't had nearly enough time to do alot with it as only got it 2 weeks ago.

Hi Adrian
How's it going with the new table saw?
I've been searching forums for hours trying to get more info on this saw. Not much info around so if i list a few questions perhaps you could respond if and when you have time?
* The dado extension - can you leave it fitted all the time and use either dados or regular blades on the extension?
* What size dado are you fitting?
* Have you made any zero clearance inserts yet? - I guess the supplied insert cannot be used once the arbor extension is fitted?
* The sliding table - how rigid do you find it - have you tried a full sheet (say 240 x 1200) on it yet?
Cheers

Yes you can leave the Dado attached all the time. The dado I've fitted has 5/8 16mm diameter. which I simply fit a spacer washer to accomodate a 30mm bore blade.
Haven't made any zero clearance inserts yet have only used the dado 2 or 3 times but yes intend to make an insert when I get time.
Sliding table seems to work fine haven't used anything as big as you mention but have used some very heavy lumps of Jarrah. All in all very happy with the machine so far.
