Fix for crosscut sled cut to wrong size?
Hi all. Noob woodworker here. I recently bought a bunch of woodwork tools/machines, and amongst it was a Rocklear cross-cut sled.
Rockler Tablesaw CrossCut Sled
Putting it in the track on the saw I got at the same time, the base doesn't reach all the way to the saw blade (maybe 40mm short from memory). Am I doing something wrong - or was it just cut for a different saw? If the latter, and ideas on how I might repair/extend the base so I can recut it for my saw? I can imagine screwing a plate or slat on the operator side of the fence, but that doesn't strike me as super rigid, and any fixing on the base itself would have to be flush with the top.
Or should I just throw the thing away, and make myself a 90 degree crosscut sled, and maybe a 45? To be honest, I can't imagine doing much else on it, and unless it's really wide, I'd just use the mitre saw.

Move the mitre bar on the base and extend the auxiliary fence. You'll have to do it with a good degree of accuracy though unless there's some adjustability at the pivot point.

Another way would be to glue a wood strip down the side. Just a tad thicker than the base then plane flush.

Just move the mitre bar. There is an adjustment for the 90° stop and the cursor so you should be able to get it back to decent accuracy. If was set up for another saw it probably won't be spot on at the moment anyway.
Those were the droids I was looking for.
