Guhdo 12'' saw blade
About a month ago I bought a 12'' Guhdo ripping blade for my TS. It was not cheap and I probably got 2 CMT blades for the same price. My TS is a 2HP saw from Gary Pye. I have not cut anything really hard with it but on the timber I have cut (mostly silky oak and pine) it works great. The cuts are clean enough, not perfect but okay. The saw flies through the timber very easily with no sign of kickback or chatter. Previously I was using a 10'' blade and if nothing else, the ability to rip wider stock is a great improvement. Since I don't do much cross cutting on the saw it is the main blade I use. For the odd cross cut it gives a good finish also.

Just wondering Chook if your saw originally came with a 10" blade?
If so then my guess is that a 12" blade may not be appropriate for it.
At the same revs the tips of the 12"blade are traveling considerably faster
than those of 10" blade and this presents a safety problem.
Just a thought.

The saw is rated to take a 12'' blade. The blade has an acceptable rev range which is well within the rev range of the TS. I think the upper limit of the blade is 6000 rpm and the TS spins at 4000.
