Habco - NOT Hafco Tablesaw
G'Day All
Today I acquired an old, though, well looked after, Habco "Homeshop' combination tablesaw. It has a 10inch (254mm) saw, as well as a 4 1/2 inch jointer. Also included is a spindle moulder head, grinding wheel, jacobs chuck, 8 in sanding wheel and a huge drum sander. (The only thing missing seems to be "a partridge in a pear tree").
The saw doesn't have a guard over the blade, which I can fix with a spare off my Triton bench. Also, there is no form of guard over the motor pulley/drive belt - which seems a little bit hairy - but I will work something out for this. The seller had improvised a dust collection system, which is a big plus - the Triton is a pain for dust. After clean-up, the unit will look a lot better. All in all, for $150, I don't think I did all that bad.
Does anyone out there have any Instruction Manuals or any other information they may be able to share with me about this machine.
The bloke I bought it off gave me a couple of pages of info. that he had put together which may be of use to other owners of these machines. These I have scanned and included with some pics of my new toy.
Merry Xmas from Stroud

Looks like a great buy to me. You might be interested in this old thread from these forums first started in 2004.

Thanks, Steve & John for your comments and best wishes.
John, I had a look at the earlier Habco threads the other day when I was considering whether to buy the saw or not. I only had very vague memories of the brand from long ago and was seeking information - and once again the Forum came in handy
With the saw-table I got recent receipts from the previous owner showing the bearings had been replaced and also that the motor alone had been re-conditioned at a cost of $151 - so I am very happy with my purchase.
Cheers

Habco Combination Tablesaw
Hi Bob
The machine I bought came with the spindle moulder attachment, grinding wheel with taper fitting for buffing wheel, jacob's chuck, 9 inch sanding disc and a few odds'n'ends I haven't worked out yet. I still haven't been able to find anyone with a Manual that I could get a copy of. As well as asking on the Forum, I placed an advert. in the "In Search" section of the Daily Telegraph, all to no avail.
Definitely no bandsaw attachment with mine. There is also supposed to be a dowelling jig for them as well.

Sounds like you got a top deal Mick.
A workshop in one machine.
Good luck with the manual,
you've been very lucky with that machine;
someone will know or have one.
Cheers, Crowie

Habco Tablesaw
Yes Bob
The Habco is a very handy little machine. Quite versatile. I hope the previous owner's dad didn't lose his hand while using the Habco. As mentioned in my first post. I did get a couple of pages of info. from the bloke I bought it from. They are on the Post. If you are unable to read them, I can possibly PM you a PDF copy. Basically it says to take the saw-blade off when using the jointer, otherwise the whole machine is liable to take off and vibrate itself to pieces.

dont think he lost his hand on the habco????????? here are a few photos , uncleaned or touched yet, tried the jointer works ok ,although i had to help the motor along with a spin to build up the revs, could be the capacator ,as the motor runs ok once it gets going, and it runs smooth and quiet, will see whats involved, also comes with a flexi drive ,similar to the one on a dremmell except thicker, will play with it for a while or it may find its way on to ebay who knows................bob

Habco Tablesaw
G'Day Bob
Did you get one of the attachments shown in the photo, and more importantly, do you know what it is? 2nd photo shows beside the Spindle Moulder for size comparison. Something blade-like is held in place by the bolt and lock-nut - but what?
Hoping
