    Default Second hand buying advice

Ive come across an Mj2325d (these got badged as many brands) made in 2020 with some surface rust for a very decent price (~500)

I’m aware it cant take dado stacks as is, and i’ll need to put some elbow grease into the top to get it back up to working condition

Other than checking that the height and tilt operate smoothly what else should i be looking at

If you've got a straight edge bring that along and check the top is flat.

    1. That it is electrically safe.
    2. That the motor runs.
    3. Identify any non-functioning / missing parts / accessories.
    4. Check with supplier that those parts can be sourced!
    5. that the support 'rail' for the sliding table is undamaged (i.e. bent)
    6. read the manual to understand its full functionality, what should be there etc

Sourcing replacement parts such as bearings, or specific castings, aluminium sections (fences, rails etc) etc can be an issue, even for very recent machines.

Thanks for all the help. Picked it up today!
Table was dead flat, very light surface rust
    Tilt and height were smooth
Motor smelled fine and ran smoothly and quiet

Missing bits was the blade guard and its hose (knife is still there) and the piece of aluminium L that attaches to the fence
Fence had dro installed and they threw in a few steel rulers, a square, an air compressor blower kit and a new rip blade

Not bad for 500, might even make a bunch of it back selling my triton workcentre
