    Llya

I have ordered myself a harvey http://www.majorwoodworking.com.au/w...b-30-tablesaw/ due to the run around and extremely poor service and response I was getting from gregmach.com.au (this is an entire new topic/thread regarding this)

Hopefully I should have my saw tomorrow and give me a day to set it up (being the first real table saw I have owned) and then I will give every one a run down review of it in the next week or so.

Grant, did you get the Harvey saw? I was told by MajorWoodworking that the Laguna is made on the same factory as Harvey, so the quality is expected to be comparable???

Got my saw and have only had a quick play with it. I am in bathurst at the moment for the racers but will give the saw a play with on my return.

I was also told laguna was a harvey base.

Got home from Bathurst this afternoon and have to get back in the car and head to Broken Hill in the morning so can't give the saw a good testing until at least late this week.

I can say the small play I have had with it when I first got it has impressed me. In some ways I wish I had bought the next model up but due to not having 15amp I had to settle for the lower model (renting and move frequently)

The table top is flat with the wings (attached by myself alone) are also flat (took me a big longer as I was alone)

The blade was straight out of the box and did not need to be aligned.

The 90 mark was spot on and the 45 was a tad over at 44.2 but was extremely easy to fix and make it stop at 45.

The fence was also straight out of the box and locks in great.

Did a small amount of ripping and cross cutting of both hard and soft wood under 20mm thick and it handled it great.

Chucked my new Freud dado blade on and tested out my also new Incra Ibox and made some boxes out of the hard and soft wood with the blade at full width and it cut the dado very easy.

I am very happy and can only recommend them to people.

I will try and do a real review on it wehn I return and have a better play with it.

Thanks, Grant! Good first impressions. Can you explain why

The base model is this good I could only imagine how much better the next model up would be.

Yep, I see your point. The question is what would be real advantages apart from power...

The trunnions mounted on the cabinet and is triple belt driven.

But the trunnions is really only a minor issue if none at all as the blade was perfect out of the box.
