Default Help with Jet JTS 600

    G'day All,

At the Brissy wood show, I purchased a Jet JTS 600 table saw.

After assembly, the sliding table was (I considered) too difficult to slide, so I "eased" it.

Now I can't get it running parallel with the blade.

The instructions are near as damn to useless.

Before I approach Jet directly, I thought I would seek advice here.

    Please help.

    G'day Peter,

Not sure how easy it would be doing sheets as large as you mentioned, but if you set up a good outfeed table you should be right.

I got the saw on special, reduced from $2000 to $1400 (round figures).

The main reason I decided on this one was the size and price. I am only a hobbyist and work in a fairly cramped, single garage. A contractor saw of equal table size has the motor out the back which really increases the footprint size.

Assembly was a bit frustrating. I refered to the parts list more than the so call instructions. A lot of steps were completed out of sequence simply because it was easier to install parts before rather than after.

As for my self impossed problem with the sliding table....I would strongly recommend putting the whole saw together first, and then start tweeking.

Stuart - Wondering if you got your sliding table sorted and what you think of this rig now you've had time to get to know it???? I was nearly going to grab one at the show this year but couldn't fit it in the ute with the new bandsaw - and thought I'd better do some research first

I am ashamed to saw I haven't got around to fixing it.

I did have another go at it not long after the previous post, but I got frustrated by the fact the sliding table is aluminium, and my magnetic based won't stick to it.

Now that you have reminded me, I'll have another go this weekend.

I have used the saw for a couple of small projects and it gave repeatable results (as you would expect) which was what I was after.
