Adjusting the drive belt on Hafco SB12
I have just bought a second hand Hare & Forbes SB-12 contractor saw as a replacement for a Triton.
I dont have a manual.
On first startup it is making rather more noise than I expected. Listening to it you would think that it must be vibrating badly but the top is not vibrating significantly.
When I look at the belt while it is operating, without a blade installed, the belt is flexing in the centre span, more on the bottom that on the top.
Not being familiar with v belt drive I am not sure if this is as it should be or not.
I will check to make sure that the pulleys are in alignment
The belt tension is provided by the weight of the motor so I am not sure if I can make it any tighter.
