Thread: Hitachi C10FL - & dado cutting

Bought a new Hitachi C10FL a couple of months ago. Great little machine. Definitely worth the buy. (except for the insert - odd shaped - lengthy process fabricating a zero clearance insert)
The manufacturers don't "recommend" dado blades, although it seems that many users in the US do use dado blades in this machine. In the US this machine gets up to 3HP, here only 2HP.

Has any one in Australia used or is using a dado blade in the C10FL?
If so, does it cut alright and why do you suppose Hitachi does not recommend using dados?
Is it because of the thin insert? If so, the after market leecraft is 1/2", plus it shouldn't be to difficult to fabricate a thicker version.
