Jet Pro Shop squeak
I have noticed a new 'squeak' that only lasts for a few seconds every time when my JET Pro Shop table saw starts up. It sounds as if one of the drive belts is slipping. I have checked the large belt which feels a bit slack but I don't have a clue as to how to tighten it. (or the smaller one for that matter). Can anyone tell me how tight the belt(s) should be and how to accomplish this. The saw runs quietly and cuts well without effort as soon as it has gained full speed. Hope someone out there can help!

Come to think of it, I think it does the exact same thing on my Proshop most of the time. Never really bothered me, because as you said, it goes away. don't know what it is from though...

Wouldn't be too concerned about it, look at it this way.
Motor spins up to speed almost instantly but blade takes a milli sec or two to catchup up to the motor, therefore something has to give so belt slips for about a squeak.
If you feel it really needs to be adjusted, you'll most likely need to loosen four bolts? on the motor where it mounts and re tension the belt which should have about 1/2" movement each way.Cheers

This seems to be a proshop issue. Mine does exactly the same thing. It shouldn't though and it didn't used to.
Has anyone solved this yet?
