Sb-10 Saw Bench
hello i am thinking of purchasing my first table saw for a personal workshop, i cannot spend to much on a table saw but am still looking for quality so have opted for the Sb-10 Saw Bench (see link bellow).
i was wondering if anybody has any experience with this saw and would be able to tell me the advantages/disadvantages of this saw as opposed to otheres in its price range thanks, stefan

I am also doing the table saw hunt at the moment.
Have you considered the Carba Tec contractors saw which is a little more than the H&F at $899 (was on special at $799 until about 2 weeks ago so you might twist their arm)

Probably better still would be the Jet JWTS 10 available at MIK International
for about $900 but make sure it is the latest model as there were some significant improvements at the end of 06 on this model. http://www.mik.com.au/
see a picture here: [ame="http://www.amazon.com/JET-708100-Horsepower-Contractor-Align-Rite/dp/B000BHNAJK/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/103-9794493-8263012?ie=UTF8&s=hi&qid=1191147451&sr=8-1"]Amazon.com: JET 708100 JWTS-10 WorkShop 10-Inch 1-1/2 Horsepower Contractor Saw with 30-Inch Align-Rite Fence and Steel Extension Wing, 115/230-Volt 1 Phase: Home Improvement[/ame]
Cant vouch for any of them but the Jet seems well thought of, but its wings are pressed steel not cast iron.
Best of luck with your choice.

Hi Stefan,
Welcome to the forums. I have the ST 10A which is the forerunner of the SB 10. It works well as long as you take the time to set it up, making sure the blade is parallel to the mitre slots, the extension wings are bolted on level with the main table etc. The cast iron wings are much stiffer than the pressed sheet metal ones and far less likely to distort with use.
Cheers
Graeme
