Kick-back fun
Link.
.
I know you believe you understand what you think I wrote, but I'm not sure you realize that what you just read is not what I meant.

Luv it....especially his technical calculations;
I did the calculations and that translates to a workpiece moving exactly ludicrously fast.

OUCH, but a funny read. I liked his idea about getting abs.
Those were the droids I was looking for.

This has happened me. Copped a small piece right in the stomach. I was stunned but not hurt.
I now leave the outfeed side of the fence .25 mm wider if I am doing a tricky piece, Ie real hard wood, especially if it is slightly warped.
Dangers lurk everywhere in the woodworking shop.
cheers,

Amazing how you can see the grain of the timber in the scar, he has achieved nice definition.

Interesting read especially if you go down the reader responses, he has a picture of his big toe nicely gashed open, again the table saw did it. HOW? Was he using his foot as the push stick

hello, I'm a newbie.
I also experienced a kick-back a few months ago. Was cutting a plywood piece 3/8" thick, 20" length 14" wide taking off a 2" strip at 15 deg. Thought I had it ALL the way thru the guard and prawls - nope, Just a slight bit left, like a fraction, and it all came back. I had turned slightly to turn the machine off and it hit the left arm at the top of the bicep, OUCH. Had a massive bruise to below the elbow.
The crazy thing is , is that I was on a weekend leave from the rehab hospital for a recent amputation above knee. Been a little leary since, but determined to get over it and get back to cutting now that I'm home.
I never really mentioned it to anyone, said it was a bad fall from my walker- good to get it off my chest. Need to get a new splitter & prawls. Everything else is ok.
