Laguna F-Series model refresh August?
Hey all.
In the seemingly never ending hunt for a table saw that suits my needs I've potentially narrowed it down to a Laguna F2 or F3. That said, I hear there is a model refresh coming in August, does anyone know about this? Seems to have some credence now that Carbatec is taking on distribution rights this time too, maybe?
I don't want to pull the pin now if there are changes coming.
Thoughts?

As an F1 owner...I'd pay the extra for the F3 primarily because of the better trunnion and other gubbins. The riving knife mount alone would almost do it for me!
One word of warning...the switch that Laguna uses on these F series saws is...not very good. If you use the saw frequently and on tough timbers then all the electrical load goes through the switch and kills it. An industrial relayed style switch is a much better option as the motor load bypasses the switch.
Oh and the zero clearance inserts aren't great either but I found some good phenolic ones on Amazon for reasonable coin.Ours is not to reason why.....only to point and giggle.

Thanks SBD, good to know. I was looking at the F2 primarily for the 2400W rating but am not particularly happy with aluminium trunnions but am probably going to grab the F3 even though I'll need a 15A circuit.
Interesting about the switch, I would have thought a relay/bypass switch would have been used but that isn't so hard to deal with if I need, cheers for the heads up.
That said, anyone have any details on the rumored model update next month?

Can't see anything different between what's listed on the Laguna website and what Gregmach has been offering for months. Most model updates in this spectrum usually involve even cheaper motors and switches but the important cast and machined parts stay much the same...
Ours is not to reason why.....only to point and giggle.

Is Laguna about the change
hands in Australia? I heard rumours the brand is to be handled by a different company in Aust.

Seems like Carbatec will be the distributor for Aus. I'm getting a few marketing emails regarding it of late.

No pricing yet, just hype marketing for now but I think it's all happening in August sometime.

Seems the prices are still the same. I ordered a Laguna F3 end of last year. But after a few months and the indication of no real idea of when the saw would turn up(not Trend timbers or Greg Machs fault, Laguna giving no idea when shipment would arrive) I got a refund and went another route.
Hopefully Carbatec will have more luck with stock.
