Looking for electric motor...
I would like to start by sending my personal thanks to Ruddy for selling me his old table saw. Ian, you are a gentleman.
I got the saw home ok and it slid down some timbers off the trailer without much fuss.
After returning the borrowed vehicle and trailer I got straight into it. I removed the 3 phase switch gear and motor and am now on the hunt for a good replacement single phase motor.
I have sent a question to http://stores.ebay.com.au/OZ-Intersales to ask if they have what I need as I can't see it in their store.
The original motor that came off the saw is a 2HP 2850rpm, with a 19mm shaft. So that is what I'm looking for...
I think it is a 2 pole, "80" frame that I need, but I could be wrong.
Anybody got any good tips for suppliers?
Cheers,

The technical sale guy was also fairley helpfull.
Hope that helps

Ok I needed a 2 horse for a drum sander I built and bought one on Ebay. It was Chinese and I believe it may be 3 phase modified to work on single phase. Now Im an electronics tech but this had me baffled what I thought was the starter capacitor failed. I took it out and it was marked 500uF200V took out and it rattled. I pulled it apart and in there were 2 X 220uF250V electrolytics hooked together which had fallen apart. Fixed that and it worked again till I put a bit too much pressure on, and the capacitor blew up. Now I have fitted 2 X 470uF400V and some steering diodes and its back in business. Reason for the story is if you dont undestand the above dont buy new motors from China. And to be honest I dont understand how it worked in the first place.

Thanks Misterwippy,
i did see their site on my travels but the largest motor on the list with a 19mm shaft is 1.5hp. The 2hp is a 24mm shaft and i dont want to have to get a new pulley. I will give them a call tomorrow and see what they can do for me.
I hear ya rrobor, I will be trying to buy quality, as much as one can estimate that these days."The life so short, the crafts so long to learn." -- Geoffrey Chaucer c..1400

ok, so I called Royce Cross and they can sort me out for about $340. Nice bloke
I called Suann rewinds in Caringbah on the advice of Mini and he says he has got what I want for $180-$200, although he didn't instill confidence he was so flippant.
Thanks for the lead on Austin Electric Motors, PEN, I will check them out tomorrow.
I love this forum when it comes to getting help and info

Re Motor,
Hi Jaquarrh
Have you purchased a motor yet, ?
If not, I have a S/H Single Phase Motor that came as a spare with a Bench Saw I purchased a while ago, It runs at 2860RPM, and the drive sharft extends out both ends of the motor, but I will need to check the shaft diameter and the motor's horsepower.
I was thinking of selling it for $ 125.00
Let me know if you are interested and I will measure the shaft and see if I can determing it's power rating,
Thanks and regards

If you haven't found your motor yet you could try these guys - Trojan Electric. Their warehouse is located near where I live, pretty helpful bunch. I had a look on their site, I think it must be a newie because its not finished yet but found the motor you're looking for:
