Default yet another makita table saw thread are they still rubbish?

so am ready to buy a table saw, its main purpose will be for small boxes and the like, ( cuts no longer than 300 at this stage,) as im just starting with woodworking, (tho i have a long trade background) and ive read a number of negative reviews on the makita table saws, but they all seemed to be from 2010, i guess my main question is are they still junk, like im literally on my way to bunnings and $500 is my upper budget, but dont want to buy a dud, but cant afford much better,

i dont mind if i have to tinker with it to get it cutting perfect!

    I don't think they've changed much.

For my money I'd be chasing a second hand contractor saw or better for that amount. I've got one to sell myself when I dig it out from the back of the shed.

I have a mlt100. Does its job but I have just upgraded to a laguna fusion and am waiting for it to arrive.

There are a few little faults (or limitations) in the current saw. Examples being aluminum top, non standard slots (12.4mm instead of 19) and not the best fence.

Besides this the saw works well but I find it now can't do what I want so have upgraded.

Will have mine up for sale as soon as my new saw turns up.
